Windows 8 build 8331 (fbl_loc) is a build of Windows 8, which was uploaded to BetaArchive on 8 December 2014. It is a pseudo-localized build, which is used for testing the internationalization system. It also has a unique set of wallpapers. The German, Greek, Finnish, French and Italian languages were later uploaded to the aforementioned website on 18 October 2018. It is one of the few available Windows builds to feature pseudo-localization, others being the fbl_eeap compile of Windows 8 build 9200 and the fbl_ie compile of Windows 10 build 9907.
It is the first build to sync to the current time during setup via internet time sync, ignoring any BIOS date that is set on the system unless Windows cannot connect to the internet.

Bugs[edit | edit source]
Installation[edit | edit source]
Turn off all network adapters even if you set the BIOS date for the machine, otherwise, after the hardware setup, it will automatically adjust to the current time via online time syncing and thus activate the timebomb. This requirement is optional, but not doing this will result in the computer rebooting every two hours. Another way is install this build on the current date, it won't activate the timebomb.
Incomplete "Microsoft Confidential" disclaimer[edit | edit source]
In the German and Greek-language versions, the "Microsoft Confidential" disclaimer watermark on the desktop is incomplete.
