Windows 3.11 build 050 is a build of Windows 3.11, which was officially called "Windows 3.11 Thai Edition", as it includes support for both the English and Thai languages.
This was the first known build of Windows to have Microsoft's own implementation of Thai language support. Prior to this, support for Thai language was achieved through third-party solutions, such as ThaiWin for Windows 2.x and 3.0 by 315 Co., Ltd., and a modified version of Windows 3.00a by The Value Systems Co., Ltd. During the development of Windows 3.1, Microsoft approached 315 to purchase licenses of ThaiWin for bundling with the then-upcoming version of Windows at a cost of $5 per each copy, as well as preforming a "technology transfer". 315 declined the offer, and as a result Microsoft developed the support for Thai language on its own.[1][2]
