Windows 2000 build 1989 is a Beta 3 build of Windows 2000.
Changes[edit | edit source]
winvernow has the RTM banner, albeit without the blue bar beneath it. It was later added in build 2068.- The Control Panel is now properly sorted from A-Z and now looks just like the RTM. This also means that shortcuts to folders are no longer placed before applets.
- The message shown when the graphical stage of setup is starting has been shortened from "Starting the Windows 2000 Setup Wizard..." to just "Please wait..."
- The design of the common controls in 16 colors has been reverted to what is seen before build 1946.
- The desktop watermark, which was introduced in 1983, is now enabled by default.
