Shell[edit | edit source]

  • The smart suggestions feature in snap layouts, initially implemented in build 23493, has been ported to this build.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The Personalization > Copilot in Windows page, initially implemented in build 23575.1001, has been ported to this build. This page is disabled by default, but can be activated manually by enabling the 45690501 velocity staging key.
  • The microphone testing section under the input device properties page in System > Sound has been updated.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • Starting from this build, all firewall rules in the "File and Printer Sharing (Restrictive)" group will be automatically configured when creating an SMB share, which no longer contains inbound NetBIOS ports 137-139.[1]
  • Support for specifying exception lists for NTLM usage has been implemented to the SMB NTLM blocking feature.[2]
  • Support for connecting to an SMB server over TCP, QUIC, or RDMA using alternative network ports to the hardcoded defaults has been implemented to the SMB client.[3]
  • Support for using certificates with subject alternative names has been implemented to the SMB over QUIC client access control feature.[4]

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed the issue that was causing blank options to show on the Personalization and Privacy & security pages in the Settings app, where if clicked on it would crash the Settings app with the 0xc000027b exception code.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing the context menu to draw off screen when invoked using touch or pen on the side of the desktop.
  • Fixed an issue where the Home page in the Settings app might show a prompt to sign into the Microsoft account, and fail to sign in if users tried to use it, even though Settings itself showed users were already signed in.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing Quick Settings crashes and ⊞ Win+A to not work.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing taskbar icons to disappear after switching desktops.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

  • Some popular games may not work correctly.
  • Navigating to the Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad page may crash the Settings app.
  • Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
  • The system may get stuck at the boot screen when booting into Safe mode.
  • User may encounter error with "The process trying to open VBoxDrv is not a budding VM process (1)." while trying to power on the virtual machine in VirtualBox.
