New features and changes[edit | edit source]
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- The tabbed browsing feature in File Explorer, which re-introduced in build 25136, has been rolled out to all users.
- The updated layout of the left navigation pane, which introduced in build 25136, has been rolled out to all users.
- The search results page has been updated.
- An icon has been added next to the Mount option in the right-click menu for certain disc image files.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- The spelling dictionary has been updated to use a language-neutral word list that will sync across all devices.
- This feature can be toggled via Accounts > Windows backup > Remember my preferences > Language preferences.
- Starting with this build, user's preferred state for the Suggested Actions setting under the Clipboard page will persist upgrade going forward.
- The alignment of the "Scan for phone" button displayed in the Sign-In Options page under Dynamic Lock when the phone failed to connect has been improved.
Boot environment[edit | edit source]
A new function HviGetPartitionIsolationType
was added. This gets some data from currently undocumented Hyper-V specific CPUID calls, and if the running system isn't a Hyper-V VM, or this new feature isn't present, returns zero. If this function returns non-zero:
- ExFAT, CDFS and UDF filesystems, and PXE servers, are inaccessible during boot.
- The legacy boot-time revocation list,
boot.stl
, is not loaded from disk (but is loaded from UEFI variable if present). - Boot-time fonts aren't loaded.
- The VMBus driver uses a different EFI boot services protocol.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- The Tamil Anjal keyboard for the Tamil language has been added.
- This feature is only available to a subset of users.
- The key repeat rate for the traditional and touch keyboard layout as well as the default touch keyboard layout has been changed to 20 keys per second.
- The default duration captured by
powercfg -sleepstudy
has been changed from 3 to 7 days. - The reliability of media controls in Quick Settings has been improved to not load old media that is no longer in use.
- The date/time recognition for existing supported locales when using Suggested Actions has been improved.
