Windows 11 build 25136 is the eleventh Insider Preview and the fifth available client build of Copper, the 23H1 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel on 9 June 2022.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- The tabbed browsing feature in File Explorer, which was introduced in build 22572, has been refined and publicly rolled out.

The Widgets entry point has been updated to show live content from the sports and finance widgets, along with breaking news alerts.

The Search entry point has been moved to the left side of the taskbar, beside the Widgets entry point.

The ability to show 7-day history of resource access for various App permissions under their respective subpages in the Privacy & security page have been added.
Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]
- The ability to report inappropriate animated GIFs from the emoji panel has been added.
- The reliability for showing a large number of pinned apps in the Start menu has been improved.

- Addressed an issue which compact mode and the option to hide checkboxes in File Explorer wouldn't take effect due to some devices being erroneously detected as tablets.
- Fixed an issue causing some users to experience a
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
bugcheck in recent builds. - Fixed an issue where Windows Update might unexpectedly show error

- Fixed a rare issue that was causing title bars to sometimes go transparent or missing sometimes in certain apps.

Fixed an issue where Disks & Volumes section under the Storage page wasn't displaying any disks or volumes.
Task Manager[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue which was causing Task Manager to crash on launch sometimes after switching between light and dark mode or changing accent color.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause the device to bugcheck.
- Shutting down Windows via the Start menu may unexpectedly reboot the device in some cases.
- Surface Pro X devices may hit a black screen when attempting to resume from hibernate in this build.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- The Mica material and Acrylic blur effect may not render correctly in OS surfaces like the Start menu, Notification Center and other areas.
- The Up button next to File Explorer address bar may be misaligned with other buttons.
- This issue will only be encountered if the tabbed browsing feature is enabled on the device.
- Launching File Explorer when using dark mode may unexpectedly show the body of File Explorer in light mode.
- Launching File Explorer with Tab and menu enabled will shows the menu bar in light mode.

- Certain apps in full screen (e.g., video players) may prevent live captions from being visible.
- Certain apps positioned near the top of the screen and closed before live captions is run may re-launch behind the live captions window positioned at top.

- Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
