Windows 11 build 25163.1000 is the sixteenth Insider Preview and the tenth available client build of Copper, the 23H1 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel on 20 July 2022.
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Taskbar[edit | edit source]
The taskbar overflow feature, which has been absent since the initial release of Windows 11, has been re-added. The taskbar will automatically transition into the overflow state when it has hit its maximum capacity, and an ellipsis entry point to an overflow menu will appear on the taskbar to allow users to view all overflowed apps in one space.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- The nearby sharing feature via the built-in Windows share window has been enhanced by using private UDP ports and Bluetooth to discover nearby devices.
- The ability to choose OneDrive as a target to directly upload the file to OneDrive via the built-in Windows share window has been added.

- The new Spotlight theme under the Personalization page, initially introduced in build 25140, is functional in this build.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue which could lead to
explorer.exe
crashing when dragging tabs around. - Fixed a memory leak when using tabs with File Explorer.
- Fixed an issue where the preview thumbnail for File Explorer in the taskbar, Alt+Tab ↹ and Task View might show the title of an adjacent tab and not the currently selected one.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the dividers in File Explorer's navigation pane to show when the "Show all folders" option is enabled.
- It also addressed the issues where dividers were unexpectedly showing in some other folder pickers.
- Fixed an issue where Narrator wasn't reading out the titles of tabs as focus moved through them.
- Fixed an issue where a closed tab might appear again in File Explorer after users dragged File Explorer across the monitors.
- Fixed an issue where the tab row might unexpectedly expand vertically, covering the command bar contents.
- Fixed an issue where removable drives might unexpectedly be displayed in a section by themselves in the navigation pane, which was breaking up the section with This PC and Network.
- Fixed an issue where the add new tab button wasn't clearly visible when using Aquatic or Desert contrast themes.
- Fixed an issue where the add new tab button might overlap with the minimize button in the title bar when using text scaling with a lot of tabs open.

Fixed a rare explorer.exe
crash that could happen while on a Microsoft Teams call, related to sharing windows from the taskbar.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where using Windows Spotlight on the desktop might revert to a solid color background.
- Fixed a couple issues that could lead to Quick Settings crashing on launch.
Suggested actions[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue which was leading to certain apps freezing after a copy action if suggested actions was enabled.
- Fixed a high hitting crash impacting suggested actions reliability.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause the device to bugcheck.
- SQL Server Management Studio may fail to launch.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- The Up button next to File Explorer address bar may be misaligned with other buttons.
- This issue will only be encountered if the tabbed browsing feature is enabled on the device.
- Launching File Explorer when using dark mode may unexpectedly show the body of File Explorer in light mode.
- On some locales, the default font used in several UI elements (such as the date and time on the taskbar) may change to regular Segoe UI instead of Segoe UI Variable.
Widgets[edit | edit source]
- Widgets preferences, such as temperature units and pinned widgets, may unexpectedly reset to default in some cases.
- The Notification badge number may appear misaligned on the taskbar.
- The Notification banner for some badging may not appear in the Widgets board in some cases.

- Certain apps positioned near the top of the screen and closed before live captions is run may re-launch behind the live captions window positioned at top.

Capability Access Manager Service
