Windows 11 build 22631.2338 is a build of Windows 11 2023 Update. It was released to a subset of Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on 12 September 2023 as the KB5027397 enablement update to build 22621.2338 (KB5030305) for new features included, which may not be enabled by default and instead be rolled out.

The performance of loading the Home page has been improved.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The new "Phone Link" toggle switch under Bluetooth & devices > Phone Link, initially implemented in build 23506, has been backported to this build.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • The removal of the Chat icon on the taskbar and the Chat icon toggle switch under Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar items in the Settings app, initially implemented in build 23466.1001, has been backported to this build.
  • Starting with this build, the Camera, Cortana, Photos, and People apps can be uninstalled manually.

Fixed an issue that was causing untranslated text in some areas across the system, including in File Explorer and the Settings app.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed an issue that was causing a white flash to appear when opening File Explorer in dark mode.
  • Fixed an issue where after changing between dark and light mode, the icons in the command bar and context menu might become very difficult to see.
  • Fixed a memory leak related to the Home page that would grow each time it was refreshed or accessed.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing explorer.exe to crash when dragging app icons on the taskbar sometimes.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing app labels to show on the taskbar unexpectedly.

Fixed an issue that was causing the Settings app to not launch in Safe mode.

Dynamic lighting[edit | edit source]

Fixed an issue where the notification on first update to a build with dynamic lighting won't show.

Task Manager[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed an issue that was causing Task Manager to not launch.
  • Fixed an issue where the dialog when collecting a process memory dump erroneously said it was collecting a kernel memory dump.
