Windows 11 build 22631.2262 is a build of Windows 11, version 23H2. It was released to a subset of Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on 24 August 2023 as the KB5027397 enablement update to build 22621.2262 (KB5029339) for new features included, which may not be enabled by default and instead be rolled out.

The following features and changes have been backported to this build:
- The Windows Backup app (initially implemented in build 23466.1001)
- Redesigned screen for restoring from backup in OOBE (initially implemented in build 23466.1001)
- The Home page in the Settings app (initially implemented in build 23493)
- The ability to re-add the pins for restored desktop apps to the taskbar and Start menu when restoring the system using Windows Backup (initially implemented in build 23493)
- The option for automatically setting the main effects color based on the system accent color under Personalization > Dynamic Lighting > Effects in the Settings app (initially implemented in build 23516)
- The link for troubleshooting device discovery and other casting issues in the Cast flyout in Quick Settings (initially implemented in build 23526)

- The performance of the calculating phase when sending a large number of files at once in File Explorer to the Recycle Bin has been improved.
- A little more space has been added between the Home page in the navigation page and the bottom of the command bar.

- Fixed an issue that was causing sporadic
explorer.execrashes when using an HDR wallpaper. - Fixed an issue where removing a monitor while connected to a Cloud PC could result in a black screen with only a mouse visible.
File Explorer[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where the context menu background in File Explorer appeared transparent in some cases.
- Fixed an issue where the context menu and dropdown menus weren't working with touch.
- Fixed an issue which was causing the search box to not work well with IMEs.
- Fixed a white flash in dark mode when switching between the Home and Gallery pages.
- Fixed an issue impacted File Explorer reliability.
- Fixed an issue where the "Automatically type into the Search Box" option wasn't working when File Explorer was open to the Home page.
- Fixed an issue where pasting using the context menu in the address bar wasn't working (or other context menu actions in the address bar).

- Fixed an issue that was causing the Bluetooth icon in the system tray to not display after upgrading to this build.
- Fixed an issue that was causing bell icon in the system tray to show a dark outline in dark theme sometimes.
- Fixed an issue where the titles were missing from taskbar previews when turning on tablet-optimized taskbar while using uncombined taskbar.
- Fixed an issue where app icons on the taskbar would become empty (with no icon) after switching between desktops.
- Fixed an issue where if the taskbar was set to uncombined it would still show animations even if they;d been turned off.
- Fixed an issue where using drag to rearrange icons in the overflow area wasn't working well when the taskbar was set to uncombined.
- Fixed an issue where uncombined taskbar's app indicators weren't shown correctly after it showed something was being downloaded.
- Fixed an issue where the hidden icons flyout might close unexpectedly when using keyboard navigation to move focus between icons.

- Fixed an issue where typing with the Japanese and Chinese IMEs may not have performed as expected in certain apps.
- Fixed an issue where when inking into a text field in Chinese, certain characters were being perceived as taps and not working.
- Fixed an issue where inking into a text field while magnifier was running was not working well as the ink was offset.

Fixed the issue that was causing the "Check for updates" button to not appear as expected under the Windows Update page.

Fixed an issue that was causing Task Manager crashes when using the reset to default button in the Settings page.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- When logging in to Safe mode,
explorer.exemay throw anUnknown Hard Errorerror and get stuck in a crash loop due to the0xc0000005(ACCESS_VIOLATION) exception with faulting moduleHolographicExtensions.dll. - The icons on the desktop may appear blank in certain cases. Refreshing the desktop would resolve this issue.
