Windows 10 build 19042.1023 is a build of the Windows 10 October 2020 Update. This build was released to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on 21 May 2021, along with its May 2021 Update counterpart, then to consumers as an optional update 4 days later on 25 May.

- The News and interests taskbar flyout introduced in 20H2 with build 19042.962, along with the "Open on hover" and "Reduce taskbar updates" options from the taskbar context menu that were previously only available in builds from the Cobalt development cycle, is now available to all consumers in this version starting with this build.
- Support for High Efficiency Image File (HEIF) images with the
.hiffile extension has been added. - Multiple fixes and general improvements.
