ESU support[edit source]

Since Windows 7 Embedded are 2 editions of Windows 7, I think that Microsoft anounced fourth year of ESU support, as it says at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb4522133-procedure-to-continue-receiving-security-updates-after-extended-support-ended-on-january-10-2023-48c59204-fe67-3f42-84fc-c3c3145ff28e Info about the fourth year of ESU support also applies to Windows Embedded 7, not only Windows Server 2008/R2, so i feel we should say that ESU support lasts for Windows 7 Embedded until January 20Talk24. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.8.172.178 (talkcontribs)

This is only for Azure customers, which always had a much longer support period than normal customers. Also, please sign your comments and replies with four tildes (~~~~). NaraInsider1694 (talk) 11:51, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

The way you've used to get extended support is not officially supported by Microsoft. They must also have checks that verify whether the system runs on Azure or not and if it's not running on Azure, you're basically out of luck. NaraInsider1694 (talk) 12:08, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

Ah, so you're trying to get ESU support without paying for it, right? Again, this is not officially supported by Microsoft, and the workaround has since been patched. NaraInsider1694 (talk) 22:15, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
