Talk:Aero Lite
Do Windows 8/8.1 use Aero Lite?[edit source]
Win 8+ uses Aero Lite? Vova23 (talk) 18:19, 7 September 2018 (BST)
- Yes, it's the theme used since build 8102 and still used today. BF10 (talk) 18:43, 7 September 2018 (BST)
- Aero Lite is used for high contrast themes, aside from that, it can't be enabled without custom
.theme
files. The default theme is still Aero, even though it has little in common with the Aero theme in Windows Vista and 7. Also I am pretty sure Aero Glass was still there in 8400, it wasn't until after the Release Preview that they introduced the flat theme. --AlphaBeta (talk) 16:56, 17 October 2018 (BST)- 8400 had glass, but with flat buttons like RTM. IIRC some 85xx build removed the glass(transparency) effect. --Ovctvct (talk) 17:00, 17 October 2018 (BST)
- Exactly. Also, interestingly enough, the new Aero is called "Aero2" internally by WPF [1]. For the record, due to the way WPF/Avalon works, apps using it can't use native controls, so the framework defines a bunch of XAML themes in order not to look out of place, here is the list of themes included in .NET 4.5: [2]. --AlphaBeta (talk) 17:17, 17 October 2018 (BST)
