iPhone OS 3 is the third version of iPhone OS (iOS), which was released on June 17, 2009, this was the last version to be labeled as "iPhone OS", before being labeled to "iOS".

Features[edit | edit source]

  • System-wide "Cut - Copy - Paste" dialog was added.
  • Spotlight, a feature to search for specific things like contacts, messages or apps was added.
  • Home screen now allowed up to 11 pages of apps. (180 apps in total.)
  • "Voice Memos" app was added, it allowed you to record your voice.
  • Messages app was updated to support MMS.
  • Camera app was updated to support video-recording on the iPhone 3GS.
  • Ability to select multiple photos at once in the default photos app. [1]
