Type | CShell composer |

Introduced in | Windows Core build 16236 |
The Diagnostic Composer is a fallback composer based on CShell, intended for when the default composer fails to load, crashes or is not present. It is present in most builds based on Windows Core OS.
It is there to inform the user that the OS is working, but the default shell couldn't be loaded. The diagnostic composer prints the IP address of the currently-running device on top of a black screen, therefore allowing Microsoft employees to debug over a local network using Telnet or TShell. In Windows Andromeda OS build 16266, more description was added to inform the user about the shell failing to load. In Windows 10X build 18875, a restart button (labeled "Click to retry default composer") was added. It is automatically invoked by the CoreShellHost
application, a component primarily responsible for the initialization of the built-in OS shell.
