Windows Server 2008 build 5244 is a build of Windows Server 2008. It was demonstrated in a Microsoft presentation that showcased Windows Management Instrumentation functionality, included as part of build 5384's IIS Resource Kit. [1] This is one of first builds to have every UI changes to be merged from other branches such as vbl_ux_dev_checkin to the other branches.

This build notably features the Start orb with the colored Windows flag previously seen in client build 5212 (vbl_ux_dev_checkin), however it has been changed to appear closer to the final iteration present in the RTM build. It also features the new Start menu that was first seen in build 5221 (vbl_ux_dev_checkin_gamesux).
