Windows NT 4.0 build 1381.1 is the official RTM build of Windows NT 4.0, which was released to manufacturing on 31 July 1996[1] and generally available on 24 August 1996. This is the recompile from 3 August and the official RTM, but there is also an earlier compile from 27 July that was apparently recalled due to a bug.
Japanese Release Candidate[edit | edit source]
On 29 November 2021, Blue Horizon provided the Japanese release candidate of this build,[2] with several notable differences compared to other variants. Both the Server and Workstation SKUs have bitmap backgrounds that identify as "Pre-Release for Evaluation", as well as additional CDs containing bug reporting tools and documentation identifying the build as the Japanese RC.
