Windows Media Player 7.1 was a minor release of Windows Media Player introduced in 2001 for Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me and Mac OS 9. It is the last version of Windows Media Player to run on the original release of Windows 98, and was included in the Windows Security Update CD for Windows 98 build 1998A from February 2004.
Windows Media Player 7.1 was released for download on 16 May 2001 along with Windows 2000 SP2.
