Windows Longhorn build 4030 (Lab06_n.030630-1724) is a Milestone 6 build of Windows Longhorn. Prior to its public release, two images were shown by Grabberslasher on his UX.Unleaked blog.[1] On 23 January 2020, this build was listed on a thread by the same user to be released to the BetaArchive FTP, and was later released in the tenth set of his 33 Longhorn/Vista builds on 2 February 2020.[2]
Setup[edit | edit source]
Setup is identical to the previous build.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
Upgrade[edit | edit source]
It is impossible to upgrade to this build, as it will cause lsass.exe
to throw out errors, and the system will become stuck in a bootloop. This build can still be clean installed however.
Desktop Compositing Engine[edit | edit source]
While the Desktop Compositing Engine works in this build, the Desktop Compositing Engine does not enable Direct3D shaders due to a bug. Because the DCE window frames rely on these shaders to function, it is not possible to enable them at this time.
