Windows CE 2.0 Beta 1 is an earliest known build of Windows CE 2.0.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
Stability[edit | edit source]
- The emulator itself is unstable, sometimes crashing upon exiting.
- On newer Windows versions, such as Windows 2000, the emulator will crash on launch with an error. It is recommended to use Windows NT 4.0 for the highest stability.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- Control Panel is nonfunctional.
- When the user closes a program, the button at the taskbar may not completely disappear.
Installation[edit | edit source]
Visual C++ 5.0 is required to install this build. In order to start the emulator, select Emulation Environment in Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 folder in the Start menu. In the Command Prompt window, type explorem.
