Windows 98 build 1543 is a Beta 2 build of Windows 98. It was found on the Happy Bytes 2 warez CD compilation, which was uploaded to the Internet Archive on 2 January 2024.[1]
Changes[edit | edit source]
- Renamed most Memphis references to Windows 98, save for the boot screen, About Program dialog, and portions of setup, where it is still referred to as Memphis.
- A new Welcome to Windows 98 applet
Welcome.exehas been added, though it is not present in the Start menu nor does it load on startup, and has to be run manually instead. - Changed the font used for the headlines of the Setup dialogs from serif to sans-serif.
- Updated Internet Explorer to version 4.71.1008.3.
