Bugs[edit | edit source]
Installation[edit | edit source]
Turn off all network adapters even if you set the BIOS date for the machine, otherwise after the hardware setup it will automatically adjust to the current time via online time syncing and thus activate the timebomb. This requirement is optional, but not doing this will result in the computer rebooting every two hours. Another way is to install this build on the current date, it won't activate the timebomb.
Crash on startup[edit | edit source]
In VMware, this build can sometimes crash on startup with a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
bugcheck. Restarting will fix the problem.
Translation[edit | edit source]
The second stage of setup was completely left untranslated/in English.
HAL[edit | edit source]
Common to most leaked Windows 8 builds, this build can still boot successfully, on most hardware Windows would otherwise no longer be able to boot on, without the hal.dll
file being present. This is in contrast to officially released builds of Windows 8, as well as builds of other Windows versions, which can no longer boot without the file being present, on the same hardware.
