Windows 3.0 RC12 is a Release Candidate build of Windows 3.0. 2 out of the 5 installation disks and the NetWare Shell disk of this build were uploaded on 23 January 2023.[1] The uploader, Term24, found 3 of the 5 installations disks and the NetWare Shell disk, but unfortunately only the fifth installation disk is intact. All files on disk 1 were deleted and replaced with a copy of MS-DOS, disk 4 has been completely overwritten, and both FATs of the NetWare disk were damaged.

Disk 1[edit | edit source]
Everything on this disk, except for the first 256 sectors (131072 bytes) of SETUP.EXE and the timestamps of the first 3 files (COMM.DRV, EGA.DRV and EGAFIX.FON), can and have been recovered. The MS-DOS system files later copied to the disk overwrote the first 3 directory entries and parts of SETUP.EXE's data.
Disk 4[edit | edit source]
Everything was lost due to a reformat, nothing can be recovered.
NetWare Shell Disk 1[edit | edit source]
Both FATs of the disk have been reconstructed.
