Windows 2000 build 2128 is the official Release Candidate 2 build of Windows 2000, which was compiled for both the DEC Alpha and x86 CPUs, and it is the last publicly available for the former architecture.
Changes[edit | edit source]
The Advanced Server SKU received its final lanmannt
and lanma256
bitmaps, replacing the ones from the NT era.
Timebomb[edit | edit source]
Like build 2072, the timebomb is not tied to a specific date, as this build is compiled in evaluation mode. Thus, this build can be installed on the current date and expires 444 days after the initial installation of this build. This continues all the way up to build 2190, just prior to the RTM.
64-bit compilers[edit | edit source]
The SDK for this build (also known as the October 1999 Platform SDK) contains the x86-to-IA-64 cross-compiler and Alpha-to-AXP64 cross compiler and linker mentioned in build 1877's SDK.
