Windows 2000 build 1386 is a fake build of Windows 2000. It was originally posted on BetaArchive on 28 February 2010 as a modified (compiled from source) checked/debug copy of Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 1, with three files (NTOSKRNL.EXE
, NTKRNLMP.EXE
, and HAL.DLL
) bearing the 5.00.1386.1
build number.[1] The fake copy was initially uploaded to the BetaArchive FTP on 6 May 2010.[2]
The build was removed from the FTP at some point after that, then uploaded for a second time on 11 July 2021, and finally removed again an hour later as a result of controversy surrounding the legitimacy of this build.
