New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Live captions[edit | edit source]

The AI-powered real-time translation feature has been implemented into live captions for speakers in real-time video calls, recordings and streamed content. Two target languages are available:

  • English (gradually rolled out to AMD64 devices with AMD Strix Point and Intel Lunar Lake processors)
  • Simplified Chinese (gradually rolled out to ARM64 devices with Snapdragon X series processors, and can be activated manually by enabling the 53308415 velocity staging keys)

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

Performing a PC reset under System > Recovery in the Settings app may cause the KB5037898 enablement update to be uninstalled unexpectedly, and the build number to be reverted to 26100.

Recall[edit | edit source]

  • Clicking links within Recall to submit feedback may experience a delay in loading the Feedback Hub app.
  • The message "Make sure Recall is saving snapshots" may unexpectedly show while the Settings page for Recall shows saving snapshots is enabled.
  • Recall may not currently work with some accessibility applications.

Click to Do[edit | edit source]

Click to Do may not highlight any info on screen if there is no content on a connected external monitor in extended mode.

Live captions[edit | edit source]

  • Live captions may crash on launch for the first time.
  • Switching languages may crash live captions if audio is playing or the microphone is enabled.
