New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Shell[edit | edit source]

An icon has been added to the "Diagnose network problems" option in the context menu on network icon in the system tray.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • Changes to the Bluetooth & devices > Phone Link page (renamed to Mobile devices), initially implemented in build 23590, has been ported to this build.
  • The performance of loading Apps > Installed apps has been improved.
  • The AI components subpage has been added under the System page, even though its contents are the same as the System components page currently. This page is disabled by default, but can be activated by enabling the 47688503 velocity staging key.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

Windows Protected Print Mode has been implemented. It builds on the existing Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) print stack where only Mopria certified printers are supported and disables the ability to load third-party drivers in order to mitigate security vulnerabilities. This feature can be toggled via the "Configure Windows protected print" policy setting under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Printers in Group Policy Editor.

Bugfixes[edit | edit source]

  • Fixed an issue that was causing overlapping rectangle voids in WinPE and WinRE in build 26010 while moving and clicking the mouse for the first time.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing keyboard shortcuts on desktop to be broken in builds 26002 and 26010.
  • Fixed an underlying issue that was causing the details pane in File Explorer to unexpectedly take keyboard focus sometimes.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing it to not be possible to save changes to shortcuts (.lnk) in build as they would cite something was using the process.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

General[edit | edit source]

  • Some popular games may not work correctly.
  • Applications may crash if Windows Protected Print Mode is enabled.
  • Users may experience a download "loop" where the build appears to download multiple times with an 0x8024200d error. The build will start to install on the 4th attempt.

Shell[edit | edit source]

  • Text on highlighted items in Microsoft Management Console and some of its snap-ins may have a yellow color.
  • Mica transparency effects on windows may not render.
  • Opening the print queue may show a message saying it can't find the app.

Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The Settings app may crash upon launch in certain cases. To work around this issue, complete the following steps:[1]
  1. Download PSTools and then extract PsExec64.exe.
  2. Open an elevated Command Prompt window, navigate to where PsExec64.exe was located and execute: PsExec64.exe /s powershell.exe. After that, a PowerShell window should open.
  3. In the PowerShell window, execute the following command:
Add-AppxPackage -RegisterByFamilyName -MainPackage Windows.ImmersiveControlPanel_cw5n1h2txyewy -ForceApplicationShutdown
  • Navigating to System > Power may crash the Settings app. Use powercfg command-line utility as a workaround.

Widgets[edit | edit source]

  • Users may experience a loading delay when the Microsoft Start feed is re-enabled.
  • Announcements from the Microsoft Start feed may still be shown on the taskbar after the feed is hidden.
  • Keyboard navigation from the settings subpage back to the top-level settings page may be broken.
  • Incorrect spacing and fonts may exist in some settings pages.

Updates[edit | edit source]
