Windows 11 build 25131 is the tenth Insider Preview and the fourth available client build of Copper, the 23H1 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel on 2 June 2022, along with its server counterpart.

File Explorer[edit | edit source]
The new folder icon used in the command bar has been updated to be consistent with the one used in the context menu.
Settings[edit | edit source]
Searching for "default" will now return the Default Apps page as the first result without the need for clicking the "show all results" option.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
General[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue that was causing devices with certain AMD processors to experience a bugcheck and roll back when attempting to upgrade to build 25126.
- This issue is also believed to be the cause of some users experiencing a bugcheck after enabling SVM in build 25126.
- Fixed an issue which was causing some users with secondary accounts to not be able to upgrade to the latest Copper builds.
- Fixed an issue which was leading to certain frame rate monitoring applications impacting game performance.

- Fixed an issue which could lead to File Explorer hanging when browsing folders with lots of
.mkv
files. - Fixed an issue which was causing searching from Home page to not return any results sometimes from the Open or Save dialog when doing it from File Explorer returned results.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the docked touch keyboard to unexpectedly dismiss when trying to edit the name of a folder in Start menu.
- Fixed an issue where a shadow which extends to the bottom of the screen would be displayed when hovering over "Do you like what you see?" while using Windows Spotlight on the lock screen.
- Fixed an issue that could cause rounded corners to unexpectedly become pixelated at certain scale factors.

- Fixed an issue causing folder icons for search results like
%AppData%
to be a blank square. - Fixed an issue when selecting "Open file location" for a search result, it would open the folder instead of selecting the file in the folder.
Settings[edit | edit source]
- Fixed an issue where the "Listen to this device" audio option would stop working after a reboot until being unchecked and rechecked.
- Narrator will now read out the position of the radio buttons in the Accessibility > Color filters page to make it easier to navigate.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

- Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause the device to bugcheck.
- Shutting down Windows via the Start menu may unexpectedly reboot the device in some cases.
- Surface Pro X devices may hit a black screen when attempting to resume from hibernate in this build.

- Certain apps in full screen (e.g., video players) may prevent live captions from being visible.
- Certain apps positioned near the top of the screen and closed before live captions is run may re-launch behind the live captions window positioned at top.
Safe mode[edit | edit source]
- Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
service not running. - Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer
