Windows 11 build 23595.1001 is an Insider Preview build of Nickel, the 22H2 development semester of Windows as a service. It was released to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel on 29 November 2023.

Widgets[edit | edit source]
The settings page has been redesigned, along with a new option to toggle Microsoft Start feeds. This change is only rolled out to a subset of users, but can be enabled by toggling on the 45393399
velocity staging key.
Shell[edit | edit source]
- The ability to show the Copilot button next to the notification bell icon, initially implemented in build 23585.1001, has been publicly rolled out. As part of this change, the "Show the desktop" button in the far-right corner of the taskbar will be turned off by default, although it can be re-enabled via the Personalization > Taskbar page in the Settings app.
- The ability to share directly to specific Microsoft Teams Channels and groups chats within the Share flyout when signing in with a Microsoft Entra ID has been added.
- The ability to discover and share files with Android devices in discoverable mode through Bluetooth under Nearby Share in the Share flyout has been implemented.

- The account-related notifications for Microsoft accounts have been added to the Home page.
- The references to Azure Active Directory (AAD) have been changed to Microsoft Entra ID.
- The System Components subpage under the System page, initially implemented in build 25926, has been backported to this build.
Windows Ink[edit | edit source]
The ability to use digital handwriting (inking) in some edit boxes for Windows Ink has been expanded to more languages and locales.
Task Manager[edit | edit source]
The process grouping in the processes page has been improved.
Bugfixes[edit | edit source]
Fixed an issue that was causing custom wallpapers to shift when switching desktops.

The Recommended section in Start menu may be blank in certain cases.
Copilot[edit | edit source]
When first launching or after refreshing Copilot while using Voice access, users may need to use "Show grid" commands to click in the "Ask me anything" box for the first time.
Widgets[edit | edit source]
- The Microsoft 365, Outlook Calendar, and To Do widgets may get stuck in an error state when the Microsoft Start feed is disabled.
- Users may experience a loading delay when the Microsoft Start feed is re-enabled.
- Announcements from the Microsoft Start feed may still shown on the taskbar after the feed is hidden.
- Keyboard navigation from the settings subpage back to the top-level settings page may be broken.
- Incorrect spacing and fonts may exist in some settings pages.
Safe mode[edit | edit source]
- Quick Settings and date/time clock on the taskbar may be missing due to the
Capability Access Manager Service
service not running. - Clicking Bluetooth & devices and Personalization pages may crash the Settings app due to an overrun of a stack-based buffer
