RE inline citations[edit source]

I think that we should still add citations that are not inline, maybe through the 'External links' page? As for the, 'call others by username' rule, I agree completelty. Tau Ceti (talk) 10:30, 24 March 2015 (GMT)

You and InfinityPlus1[edit source]

I understand your concern over the content, and I'm not meaning to be rude or anything here, but I just wanted to look over what you said about InfinityPlus1's contributions. I have not seen evidence that this guy is copy pasting from other sites, (but if it is there then I completely agree with you, that is against the rules of BetaWiki), and I just think that you could have been a bit lighter. It's OK, I think that it would be better if you make piece, but under the condition that InfinityPlus1 doesn't copy, or do anything against the rules of BetaWiki. Your thoughts? Tau Ceti (talk) 10:33, 12 May 2015 (BST)

Have you *seen* some of his recent posts on BA? He literally copied them from sites ran by other community members with legitimately no understanding of the content. Go look at the pointless forums he creates, he literally models them after WinWorld and BetaArchive. Down to the rules pages and subforum descriptions. He even copies the way others speak. There are numerous examples on this wiki where he fucking copies my damn colloquialisms. There's nothing original about Mr. "Pimenta".

It's genuinely difficult to be lighter to someone who literally does not listen until you hit him with a metaphorical sledgehammer. Brandon has a history of sticking cotton in his ears and going "NAHNAHNAH I'M NOT LISTENING!!!". He insisted a shovelware disc was a Chicago build once. The only reason he's on BetaArchive right now, is because he was *extremely lucky* to have another chance after being banned four times. Furthermore, with the last argument...

I don't think you (or I for that matter) have any authority over such matter...that is up to AlphaBeta.. I'm not calling for him to be punished here. He needs to be encouraged to think. Not mindlessly parrot.

User99672 (talk) 04:52, 14 May 2015 (BST)

A few reasons why I disagree:
-When I thought a shovelware disc was a Chicago build, it was a long time ago, when I was new to the scene, and I no longer do it.
-I don't create pointless forums anymore. I created only 2 forums and 1 normal site, both died. I just revived OSBA's former wiki, ClassicBeta, what do you think? Boosting my ego or creating something good?
-I don't copy all the time, but I do most of the time. Cooled copied OSBA without Leibo's permission, and it was a successful forum. Battler, founder of SoftHistory, copied some rules text from BA's rules.
-I didn't get banned 4 times. Only thrice.
-I will try to listen what others say.

>When I thought a shovelware disc was a Chicago build, it was a long time ago, when I was new to the scene, and I no longer do it.
Uh huh. Keep it up then.
>I don't create pointless forums anymore. I created only 2 forums and 1 normal site, both died.
That is not for you to decide. I strongly suspect most community members will agree fbl_swim, your 'new' joejoe, etc, were foolish. I've done the same shit myself years ago. I helped with skfunnyboy's site, me and soulman ran one, I've ran through most of the predecessors to SoftHistory, etc... forums for the sake of forums, popularity, or power is pointless, and if you think that's what OSBA is about, you're delusional.
>I just revived OSBA's former wiki, ClassicBeta, what do you think? Boosting my ego or creating something good?
Clearly boosting your ego. Don't play games with me Brandon. cooled's OSBA is certainly not about anyone's ego in particular. It's also coincidental how you start reviving these former sites that you have no knowledge, experience, or authority on after you were removed from OSBA. Let's clear some things up
1. What where you thinking, saying "fuck you stitch", if stitch ever did anything wrong to you, that's not the way to settle the matter, by going ahead and attacking him. Why don't you tell us exactly what your beef (slang in this case for problem) with stitch is?
2. Did you look at the fucking CLOCK? Do you know how fucking disrespectful you are? Dude, you live in BRAZIL. The rest of the world has TIME ZONES. Maybe he works at night? Maybe he wasn't at his desk at the time? You couldn't just leave a message, and wait for a response? Don't you have, I don't know, a life? Homework? If your life revolves around the beta scene, get off the computer, Now. This is unhealthy for you. Why do you demand an instant response to everything? Why do you think you're more important than everyone else, so much so that you have to have an answer "THIS VERY INSTANT". Do you ever stop to think how others will perceive your actions?
> I don't copy all the time, but I do most of the time.
Stop doing that, now. Stop Copying altogether. Do you think that saying "I don't do it 100% of the time" excuses it? No it doesn't. You can't just write yourself off, you have to take responsibility for your actions, and if you can't do that, get off the internet, because people are going to treat you a whole lot worse. If your mom coddles you by justifying it with "you're a kid", she is setting you up to fail.
>Cooled copied OSBA without Leibo's permission, and it was a successful forum.
was? "Is". Second, he would've gotten permission... If they could be reached.
>Battler, founder of SoftHistory, copied some rules text from BA's rules
Surprise! I don't automatically agree with Battler on everything!
>I didn't get banned 4 times. Only thrice.
Close enough. That's still shameful.
>I will try to listen what others say.
You're not doing a very good job of it right now.
User99672 (talk) 06:43, 14 May 2015 (BST)
>Uh huh. Keep it up then.
I will. I now know what is real, fake, and modded, and along with a good knowledge of Photoshop I can tell if text is misaligned, etc.
>I strongly suspect most community members will agree fbl_swim, your 'new' joejoe, etc, were foolish.
>:( Sorry, there were just failed attempts to boost my ego. ClassicBeta isn't for boosting any egos, but I want collaboration with BAWiki and BetaWiki.
>forums for the sake of forums, popularity, or power is pointless, and if you think that's what OSBA is about, you're delusional.
Well there are more beta/abw ring forums than beta/abw wikis so how did OSBA become successful? All I've heard is that he started work on it as early as August 2014 and had failed to revive OSBA multiple times before succeeding.
>Clearly boosting your ego. Don't play games with me Brandon. cooled's OSBA is certainly not about anyone's ego in particular. It's also coincidental how you start reviving these former sites that you have no knowledge, experience, or authority on after you were removed from OSBA.
I'm not boosting my ego. I'm just trying to get collaboration with BetaWiki and BAWiki and their users.
>What where you thinking, saying "fuck you stitch", if stitch ever did anything wrong to you, that's not the way to settle the matter, by going ahead and attacking him. Why don't you tell us exactly what your beef (slang in this case for problem) with stitch is?
I just attacked him because he said bad things to me, like telling me to suck a dog's [censored], telling me to tell my dad to smack me with a belt, telling me to go [censored] myself, etc.
>Stop doing that, now. Stop Copying altogether. Do you think that saying "I don't do it 100% of the time" excuses it? No it doesn't.
Well I know I have no personality, nor am I doing a good job at this right now, but I'm trying.
>If they could be reached.
Then who made ClassicBeta?
>Surprise! I don't automatically agree with Battler on everything!
Like, did you get warnings from him for rudeness, or do you simply disagree with what he says sometimes?
>User99672 (talk) 06:43, 14 May 2015 (BST)
That is all. --InfinityPlus1 (talk) 04:21, 15 May 2015 (BST)
>I will. I now know what is real, fake, and modded, and along with a good knowledge of Photoshop I can tell if text is misaligned, etc.
I'll have to take your word for it, but that's what everyone says. Literally.
:( Sorry, there were just failed attempts to boost my ego. ClassicBeta isn't for boosting any egos, but I want collaboration with BAWiki and BetaWiki.
Bullshit. Forums are one thing, Wikis? There are now three wikis with fragmented, differing data. There's barely activity on BAWiki, less here, and you think yours is going to get more than a few spambots? More wikis are not the solution.
> Well there are more beta/abw ring forums than beta/abw wikis so how did OSBA become successful? All I've heard is that he started work on it as early as August 2014 and had failed to revive OSBA multiple times before succeeding.
You are not guaranteed success. Ever. Honestly, working with everyone on OSBA, there are probably details I've missed trying to do my part, so any description would be incomplete and inappropriate as to why it works.
> I'm not boosting my ego. I'm just trying to get collaboration with BetaWiki and BAWiki and their users.
It's not going to work. It hasn't worked well for BetaWiki, it's not going to work for you. I frankly don't believe you, that you just happened to have the same mission statement as BetaWiki. All these things are too coincidental.
>I just attacked him because he said bad things to me, like telling me to suck a dog's [censored], telling me to tell my dad to smack me with a belt, telling me to go [censored] myself, etc.
I am not going to condone his behavior, but how was what you have done any different than what he's done to you? Do you think this is an acceptable way to handle the situation? How have your parents handled situations with people like stitch? How do others react? Think about that.
> Well I know I have no personality, nor am I doing a good job at this right now, but I'm trying.
Then get a personality. Nobody likes a copycat.
>Then who made ClassicBeta?
*shrugs* Don't look at me. I've been around here for 6 years, not 10.
>Like, did you get warnings from him for rudeness, or do you simply disagree with what he says sometimes?
I am not going to dignify that with a response. User99672 (talk) 04:52, 15 May 2015 (BST)
Now I understand what is going on. That is really freaking stupid. Tau Ceti (talk) 06:59, 15 May 2015 (BST)
