Where is the patched uxss.exe to make Aero in VMware for Windows Vista build 5098 and Windows Vista build 5112? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BGRComputers.co (talkcontribs)

I now done patching it, but how do I enable aero in VMware for Windows Vista build 5098 and Windows Vista build 5112? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BGRComputers.co (talkcontribs)

Open regedit, navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DWM, and create EnableMachineCheck and ForceSoftwareD3D DWORDs, EnableMachineCheck set to 0, and ForceSoftwareD3D set to 1, log off and you will get Aero in 5098 and 5112 on VMware. P.S. I verified this only in Longhorn 5098, because Vista (and Longhorn Server) 5112 was extremely buggy and laggy for me after installing graphics driver. Multiple Problems[edit source]

1: i installed 5098 on VMware 16.1.2, and i was bringed up my custom ISO that contains Patched UXSS. i put it on virtual disc drive and copied Patched UXSS at the desktop, i renamed it, i opened system32, and when i try to replace/patch for the first time, it was used by TrustedInstallers. Luckilly i managed to change the ownership, and i tried again, i have to close uxss. unfortunately, i tried closing through the task manager, it runs again. i tried closing through task manager 5+ times, and it doesn't work. :(

2: How am i supposed to go to the safe mode in Build 5098? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LazytownSpo4015 (talkcontribs)
