Remote Assistance

Quick Assist is an online Microsoft Windows feature first included with the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which allows a user to view or control a remote Windows computer over a network or via the Internet to resolve issues without directly interacting with the computer. It is the successor to Remote Assistance, which offered similar functionality. Like its predecessor, it utilizes the Remote Desktop Protocol specification to establish communication between two devices.

Unlike its predecessor, which establishes a local RDP connection to the end-user's computer, Quick Assist is cloud-based and requires the support person to sign in with a Microsoft account before providing assistance. Additionally, it only supports connecting to devices running Windows 10 Anniversary Update and above, and is not supported on older releases of Windows.
