Mac OS X Jaguar build 6C115 is the official RTM build of Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2. This build replaces the Happy Mac on boot with the Apple logo. Alongside, some icons got an update and the busy spinning cursor is given a more sleeker design.

New features and changes[edit | edit source]

Boot screen[edit | edit source]

The Happy Mac boot screen has been replaced. The new one features a gray Apple logo on a white background with a loading indicator below it.

Setup[edit | edit source]

The 2nd portion of Setup has been updated. The message telling the user to insert the 2nd CD has been reworded and the sidebar was added, with the additional step "Additional Software".

Out-of box experience[edit | edit source]

The OOBE received a couple of changes. In the Registration part, the text telling the user to fill out the requested information has been expanded, as the sentence "It is used to personalize your settings and store your contact information in your Mac OS X Address Book" was added inbetween the "...fill out the requested information." and "...Tab key to move between boxes.". iTools has also been renamed to .Mac.

User interface[edit | edit source]

The user interface received a major revamp. Several applications received a brushed metal look, as opposed to the Aqua in Cheetah and Puma. However, most of the user space still retains the Aqua look. The busy spinning cursor has been changed from blue back to rainbow, with the cursor itself receiving a more sleeker design. Most icons were also updated and a new default desktop wallpaper is now used.

Finder[edit | edit source]

The Computer icon has been replaced with the "Sunflower" iMac G4. A Search box has also been added to the toolbar.

iPhoto[edit | edit source]

iPhoto is now included as a preinstalled application. This build includes version 1.1.1.

About This Mac[edit | edit source]

The MHz of the processor has been added next to the processor itself.

User pictures[edit | edit source]

User pictures have been added as a feature. They are now selectable in the OOBE and are visible each time the computer starts.

Disk Utility[edit | edit source]

The progress is now shown as a popup instead of as a progress bar.

System Preferences[edit | edit source]

The "Digital Hub" category was completely removed, and as a result of this, the CD & DVDs addon was added under the Hardware category. The Universal Access preference was also moved to the System category.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • Internet Explorer was updated to version 5.2.1.
  • iTunes was updated to version 3.
  • QuickTime Player was updated to version 6.0.1.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

When using the disk utility, partitioning a hard drive may lead to a stuck message saying "Preparing drive... unmounting old volumes". The only way to get past this is to use another installation CD of macOS to partition the hard drive.
