New features[edit | edit source]

  • Introduced more customization features for Safari, including options to rearrange the various sections of the Start Page such as Favorites, Reading List, Siri Suggestions and Privacy Report.
  • New integration support was added for developers to add extra features for the Start Page.
  • There are some optimizations for running iOS apps on M1 Macs, these include a preference pane which allows users to set keyboard commands as an alternative to the default touch input.
  • iPadOS apps now launch with a larger window, provided if the Mac's display is large enough.
  • Added support for PlayStation 5 DualSense and Xbox Series X/S controllers.
  • Reminders can now be sorted by Due Date, Creation Date, Priority, or Title, and a new option was added to print lists by going to File → Print.
  • Reminders can now be moved manually across lists by way of drag and drop.
  • Added a new "Made For You" library shortcut in Apple Music, which is designed to find the user's personal mixes and Replay playlists, and the Listen Now section was updated with support for highlighting live events.
  • Redesigned the Apple News+ tab in the Apple News app, to include a new "For You" tab, which is designed to help Apple News+ users find their favorite magazines and newspapers much faster, and a new Browse tab to make it easier to browse through new content.
  • Added new tools for managing downloaded magazine issues in the Apple News app.
  • Added support for HomePod Stereo pairs. This allows for a set of paired HomePods to be set as the default sound output option, with the devices showing up as a single selectable speaker rather than seperate like in previous versions of macOS.

Findings[edit | edit source]

The Apple news site 9to5Mac discovered a hidden updated Support interface accessible from About This Mac. It would be later accessible to users in build 20E5186d.[2]
