iOS 4.0 build 8A216 is an InternalUI build of iOS 4. It was showcased on a white iPhone 4 prototype by Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn on 19 April 2011.[1][2][3]
New features and changes[edit | edit source]
Multitasking has been introduced.
Home screen[edit | edit source]
Home screen wallpapers and folders have been added, while app icons and the Dock have been updated to resemble that of the iPad.
Differences from later builds[edit | edit source]
- The Calculator app icon uses its old design from iPhone OS 2-3.
- The slider on the lock screen appears to use the flatter design used on iPhones and iPod touches without Retina displays.
- The multitasking interface is full-screen, uses the wallpaper as the background, and displays apps as windows in a grid rather than a row of icons. The Spotlight search bar has been moved here from the home screen, a change that would be reverted in the next build.
- The folder interface appears over the home screen rather than pushing away half of it.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- Icons within the Settings app haven't been updated for the Retina display.
- The "No SIM Card Installed" alert on the lock screen is taller than normal.
