iOS 18.2 build 22C5125e is the official Beta 2 and Public Beta 1 release of iOS 18.2, which was released to Apple developers on 4 November 2024, then to public beta testers a few days later.[1][2]

Apple Intelligence[edit | edit source]

Siri[edit | edit source]

The ChatGPT section of ‌Apple Intelligence‌ for Siri will now display capability limits that are in place for free users.[3] These users can subscribe to ChatGPT Plus to remove any restrictions, which can now be done directly from this page.

Image Playground and Genmoji[edit | edit source]

  • A splash screen has been added to the Image Playground app.
  • Selecting a Genmoji from the emoji keyboard will now display the prompt that was used to create it.

Camera Control[edit | edit source]

On the iPhone 16 series, several new features for Camera Control have been added. Users can now toggle auto exposure and auto focus with the button, which can be enabled in the Settings app. Additionally, there is a new accessibility option for adjusting the double click speed.

Safari[edit | edit source]

  • In the EU for iPadOS, Safari has a new pop-up which promotes alternate web browsers to users. This feature was previously implemented in iOS 17.4 Beta 1.
  • A Live Activity for file downloads has been added.[4]
  • Adult content will now be blocked for Utah residents under the age of 17.

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

  • In the Find My app, the ability to share the location of items with an airline or trusted person has been added.
  • iPhone‌ Mirroring is now available if the user shares a hotspot connection with their Mac.
  • In the Settings app, there are now dark mode and tinted variants of subpage icons.
  • Shortcut actions for the Fitness app have been added.
  • Battery life and device temperature has been improved.
  • Unknown computers can now be trusted by using Face ID, rather than having to use the passcode.
