Copland build D7E1 A is the June 1995 release of Apple's unreleased Copland project, and is the earliest available build of Mac OS to be based on a new nanokernel, referred to as NuKernel. This build, part of Apple's Copland project at the time, aimed to port the Macintosh functionalities to a nanokernel in order to improve stability and improve multitasking capabilities of the system.

This build also includes several new features, such as a theming service that could replace the interface with a prototype theme under the name "Z Theme". The aforementioned theme would later be ported to a Mac OS 8.5 build under the name of "Gizmo". As part of the Copland project's failure, this build is notoriously unstable and requires a NuBus PowerMac 6100/7100 in order to boot, alongside a debugging Mac to get past the boot sequence. Most of these scrapped features that could be ported to Mac OS 8 would be moved to that system.
