Windows XP build 2542 is a pre-RTM build of Windows XP, which was released to testers on 14 August 2001.[1]

Activation[edit | edit source]
The Windows Product Activation grace period was increased from 14 to 30 days. Retail keys are now also accepted as valid product keys.
