Windows XP build 2509 is a pre-RC2 build of Windows XP, which was originally leaked as a corrupt image file. The complete version of the build was later found on 27 December 2021.

Boot screen[edit | edit source]
The alternative AUTOCHK boot screen (which can be invoked by adding the /SOS switch to BOOT.INI) has been updated to remove the final remaining reference to Whistler.
Internet Explorer[edit | edit source]
The "smart tags" feature was removed from Internet Explorer.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
Installation[edit | edit source]
The initial copy of this build contains corrupted files ranging from AAAAMON.DL_ to CYZPORT.IN_ on the installation media. This can be solved by copying all the needed files from the i386 directory of build 2505's installation media.
