Windows XP build 2486 is a pre-RC1 build of Windows XP, which was released to testers on 15 June 2001.[1]
Changes[edit | edit source]
- The logo in the about dialogs for Internet Explorer and Outlook Express has been updated to the Windows XP logo.
Sample Pictures[edit | edit source]
- Replaced the five sample pictures used in the previous builds with three new ones, these are Blue Hills, Sunset and Water lilies which persist into the final product.
- Winter forest has been renamed to Winter and has been updated.
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
- The "chess" user account picture is replaced by a CHESS.BMP wallpaper from Windows 3.0 in its original resolution. This is very likely a mistake as build 2494 has the original image reinstated. This can also be seen in build 2475.
