Boot environment[edit | edit source]
The entire boot environment was built with BOOTENV_MEMORY_CHECK
defined (previously only defined in checked builds). On entry and exit of every bootlib API call, all physical memory chunks and heap chunks are checked for corruption. (With an undocumented BCD element 0x1500008E
, the frequency of checks can be decreased; however it defaults to zero, thus always checking.)
Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
The App Compatibility FOD may fail to install on Server Core post reboot with error message "Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry-undoing changes. Please keep your computer on."
