Windows Server 2012 build 7968 is a build of Windows Server 2012, which was shared on 28 October 2024.
This build is specific in that it was compiled as a private build, with binary files having the VS_FF_PRIVATEBUILD flag set in their version information and the builder user name being present in the build tag, although the user name appears to suggest that it was compiled by the official Windows Central Build Lab Account (the display name of the wincbld account, additionally responsible for signing most binaries).
It is notable for being one of the few Windows Server builds to be made available in the form of unstaged installation media; all server editions available in the Windows Server 2012 source tree at the time of compilation (albeit labeled as Longhorn, a holdover that was never corrected internally) are available for the user to pick from and install during setup, in turn building a complete Windows image from scratch from a set of components through the use of the Windows Component-Based Servicing (CBS) stack.

The user interface will fail to initialize properly when redpilled as a result of missing file dependencies. To fix this, apply the patch to restore the missing files before running Redlock.
