Windows Phone 8 build 8042 is the earliest available build of Windows Phone 8, which was uploaded to the Chinese website BetaWorld on 20 October 2022, along with build 9513.[1] It was found on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 (MSM8660) Forward Looking User Interface Device (FLUID) Reference Platform in the form of a bootable UpdateOS hard disk parititon.
The Hardware Abstraction Layer for this build (including extensions for NVIDIA Tegra 2/3, Texas Instruments OMAP4 and Qualcomm Snapdragon S3) were uploaded on 27 May 2022, and the full build was later publicly shared by the aforementioned website on 23 June 2024.[2]
Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ Is actually a MinWin operating system image. No Windows Phone/Update OS-specific components are actually present, and a leftover package definition file asserting itself to be a MobileCoreUpdateOS image is present in the disk partition.
