Windows Phone 7 build 6077 is the official Beta 2 and the earliest known and available build of Windows Phone 7. It includes a new home screen, lock screen, improved graphics and added some new animations. It was eventually released with the first Microsoft Windows Phone Developer Tools CTP. It was shown and featured on various Pocketnow videos.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]

zApps[edit | edit source]

Due to this build being a test image, several zApps (at the time being prefixed with a ~) are included:

~DeviceUpdateArd - opens the "Update available" dialog even without an update available.
~DeviceUpdateSettings - opens the Phone Update settings applet.
~Location Settings - opens the Location settings applet.
~Obex Parser - exits with an error, the purpose of this app is not known.

Several non-prefixed internal apps are also included:

SystemInfo - an equivalent of Task Manager from desktop Windows.
ShortCuts - a file browser.

Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]

Internet Explorer[edit | edit source]

The settings button in Internet Explorer does nothing.

Microsoft Office Mobile[edit | edit source]

The Send button in the file options menu of Excel does nothing.
Creating new documents in PowerPoint does not work.

Settings[edit | edit source]

The Feedback Settings, Speech and Touch Keyboard setting applets do not open.
The Sound Profiles setting applet is a placeholder.
Restarting the system in any way (such as resetting the emulator to factory settings) will cause the system to freeze.
Enabling Bluetooth causes the Settings app to freeze.

Start Screen[edit | edit source]

After opening the People app, the People live tile will stop working.
Light mode does not affect the start screen and can sometimes cause the system to freeze.
