Windows Longhorn build 4044 is an unleaked Milestone 7 build of Windows Longhorn. This build uses a different winver branding which is seen in later builds, up to Windows Vista build 5215 in Professional edition and Windows Vista build 5310 in Starter edition. This build was first seen in a screenshot at PDC 2003 during the Avalon Graphics and Media (Part 2) presentation: Using Graphics, Animation and Composition in Your Applications session (CLI341) by Greg Schechter to demonstrate the power of XAML in Windows. Since then, a couple more screenshots of this build have been leaked.
