Windows 98 build 1713 is a pre-Release Candidate 1 build of Windows 98.
Changes[edit | edit source]
- Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 and Outlook Express 4.01 SP1 have been updated to the final build.
- Task Scheduler has been updated to the final version.
- WBEM/WMI 1.0 has been updated to the final version.
Windows 98 Team Easter Egg[edit | edit source]
- This is the first build to introduce the Windows 98 Team Easter Egg. The method to activate it is identical to the RTM.
Installation notes[edit | edit source]
This is an upgrade build, so you need an older Windows version or an older Windows 98 build to install the build. Alternatively, you can partially use installation files for Windows 3.1/95 and put them in the ISO file outside of the Windows 98 installation files so that Setup will pass these files as coming from a full installation of Windows 98.
