Windows 98 build 1353 is the official Developer Release build of Windows 98, released on 5 January 1997[1] and was shared later by BetaArchive user marcoguy on 19 December 2016.[2]

The /MENUANI subfolder includes registry files to enable the slide menu animations, which were introduced in Windows Nashville build 999, as seen in Windows 98 and later.
The /BOOTFLOP subfolder includes files used for a bootdisk. However, AUTOEXEC.BAT
and CONFIG.SYS
are named with a .CD
extension.

ACPI[edit | edit source]
ACPI support is in very early development and crashes easily. If you don't disable ACPI, however, Setup may crash to a red screen of death, which was used to differentiate ACPI errors from other errors.
