Windows 8 build 8155 is a build of Windows 8, which was uploaded on 25 December 2021.
Changes[edit | edit source]
- The OOBE has been updated with minor layout changes.
- The gray and dark gray accent colors have been added, with green being removed and the default now being teal.
- The placeholder
Windows Proximity Connection.wav
sound from build 8128 has been replaced with the sound that is reminiscent of the one found in the RTM build. - System Settings has been renamed to PC Settings.
- As of 2024, this is the first known build to use the terms "sign in"/"sign out" instead of "logon"/"logoff".
- The "You need to activate Windows before you can personalize your PC" message in PC Settings' personalize section now appears as a red text instead of a yellow banner with black text.
- The ability to create a recovery USB drive has been added. However, this feature is not yet functional as
boot.wim
does not get copied. - A fifth page has been added to the ClearType Text Tuner.
- In the sign-in options, the Windows Live ID is now referred to as Microsoft Account.
- The "Install now" button in the Windows Setup autorun dialog no longer contains an arrow, but uses the System font instead which persists up to build 8176.
