Windows 8 build 8049 is a build of Windows 8, which was was released to Microsoft partners through the Ecosystem Engineering Access Program (EEAP) around 31 July 2011, and as is common for such builds coming from the fbl_eeap
branch, it had the entire Metro user interface stripped out at compile time and therefore cannot be redpilled. It was publicly shared on 18 September 2024.
Prior to its upload, two screenshots of this build were shared on the Chinese forum PCBeta on 12 September 2011.

- This build added the "Georgian Ministry of Education and Science Schools" keyboard layout.
- The title bar font has been changed from Segoe UI Semilight, 12pt to Segoe UI, 11pt.
