New features and changes[edit | edit source]

  • This appears to be the first build with the "Go to the desktop instead of Start when I sign in" feature. However, it is enabled by default and can't be turned off.
  • The "All Apps" button has been added to the start screen.
  • All Apps view now has a dedicated search box. As a part of this change, the search charm will no longer open this view.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

Timebomb[edit | edit source]

Unlike other Windows 8.1 builds, it contains a broken timebomb and can be installed on the current date.

DWM[edit | edit source]

The taskbar calendar flyout has no outlines, and window caption buttons are messed up, due to software rendering being damaged. Installing a graphics driver will fix the caption button rendering.

Metro[edit | edit source]

  • If the mouse wheel is scrolled up during the animation of switching to App View, or switching from the App View, the Start screen will get stuck in a state where both views are displayed at once.
  • Due to the issues with software rendering in this build, many Metro applications are displayed incorrectly. This includes the PC settings app.
