Windows 2000 build 2042 is a build of Windows 2000, which is referenced in Windows XP's source code in\\NT\admin\darwin\doc\relnot99.txt. It is the first build to include the APPDATA environment variable. A reference to the Professional SKU can also be found inside of the source code inside wbemsdk.chm.

                       USERPROFILE and APPDATA environment variables for registry
                       icon paths.  When we do, the registry key gets a EXPAND_SZ
                       type.  Note that APPDATA is only available in NT5 starting
                       with build 2042.
